Gazpromneft-Lubricants,has recently become the first Russian company to meet the requirements for the latest API SN Plus specification from the American Petroleum Institute for its product - G-Energy FE DX1 5W-30. This engine oil is specifically developed for use in gasoline engines with turbocharging and direct fuel injection.
The API SN Plus specification features a tightening of the lubricant requirements to prevent Low Speed Pre-Ignition (premature ignition of the fuel-air mixture at low speeds) that has become a problem with modern turbocharged high-performance engines due to the threat of its destruction and premature failure. G-Energy FE DX1 5W-30 engine oil has been successfully tested for compliance with the license requirements including the latest Sequence IX engine test for premature ignition of the fuel-air mixture in the cylinder, developed by Ford engineers. The tests, carried out in one of the largest research centres in the USA, showed the full product compliance with API requirements for SN Plus level engine oils.
*API SN Plus – the newest standard, developed on the basis of API SN specification to eliminate the LSPI. To obtain it, special additives are necessary which takes into consideration the specific requirements of turbocharged engines with direct fuel injection. The license is issued starting from May 1, 2018.
